Our client is active worldwide in life science products, performance materials, polymers and industrial chemicals. The group has annual sales of 6,665 million (Eur) and employs about 22,000 people (year-end 2001) at more than 200 sites worldwide. It ranks among the global leaders in many of its fields. The company's strategy is aimed at generating sales of approx. EUR 10 billion in 2005. At least 80% of these sales should be generated by specialties, i.e. advanced chemical and biotechnological products for the life science industry and performance materials.
Our client currently operates 3 representative offices, 1 wholly owned trading company and 9 joint ventures in China. Our client’s imported products are introduced to customers via representative office. The operations of the ventures include Engineering Plastics, Powder Coating Resins, Unsaturated Polyester Resins and Pharmaceutical bulk actives. Our client has strong interest in China's market. With existing and future investments, it shows long , solid commitments to China.
Our client’s Nutritional Products, the successor to Roche's Vitamins and Fine Chemicals Division, is the world's leading supplier of vitamins, carotenoids and other fine chemicals to the feed, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
现我们的客户（上海地区）急需招聘 “Associate Scientist“ 1名, 具体要求如下：
Purpose
1. To apply specialist knowledge and expertise with regard to analytical technologies and applied analytical chemistry (focus on process chemistry, food and feed), integrate and apply it in R&D projects and other research activities within the DNP NC China Research Centre operations.
2. To contribute to the generation of new expertise and new concepts.
3. To operate advanced instruments for problem solving and routine analyses.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain specialist knowledge in applied analytical chemistry (area of expertise). Integrate, apply and develop it in order to solve problems in projects and assignments. Involve in scaleup of chemical process in a kilo-lab setting.
2. Stay abreast of new developments in the area of expertise and advise on applicability in business group processes.
3. Evaluate new ideas and support the initiation of R&D proposals and projects in order to contribute to innovations and new concepts in the area of expertise.
4. Execute the agreed research programs / experiments, evaluate it and report the results.
5. Participate in assigned R&D project(s), in which the specific area of expertise has to be applied
6. Support and contribute registration and patent filing in the field of expertise expertise
7. Participate in publishing scientific publications / presentations; participate at scientific conferences and costumer events according to the need of the research activities. Keep up-to date with scientific literature
8. Comply with Safety Health Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) and other legal requirements.
Requirements
1. MSc in analytical chemistry (or equivalent qualification). BSc in chemistry with focus in analytical chemistry
2. Level of knowledge of a junior researcher
3. Good communication and interpersonal skills
4. The holder must be fluent in Mandarin and English. Knowledge of German would be an advantage
5. Knowledge and hands-on experience of modern analytical methodologies and techniques. Experience in supporting process chemistry and scaleup would be an advantage.
