Our client is active worldwide in life science products, performance materials, polymers and industrial chemicals. The group has annual sales of 6,665 million (Eur) and employs about 22,000 people (year-end 2001) at more than 200 sites worldwide. It ranks among the global leaders in many of its fields. The company's strategy is aimed at generating sales of approx. EUR 10 billion in 2005. At least 80% of these sales should be generated by specialties, i.e. advanced chemical and biotechnological products for the life science industry and performance materials.
Our client currently operates 3 representative offices, 1 wholly owned trading company and 9 joint ventures in China. Our client’s imported products are introduced to customers via representative office. The operations of the ventures include Engineering Plastics, Powder Coating Resins, Unsaturated Polyester Resins and Pharmaceutical bulk actives. Our client has strong interest in China's market. With existing and future investments, it shows long , solid commitments to China.
Our client’s Nutritional Products, the successor to Roche's Vitamins and Fine Chemicals Division, is the world's leading supplier of vitamins, carotenoids and other fine chemicals to the feed, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
现我们的客户（上海地区）急需招聘“Process Engineer 1名, 具体要求如下：
Purpose
1. To apply specialist knowledge and expertise with regard to synthetic technologies and process optimization and to develop, integrate and apply it in R&D projects and other research activities within the DNP NC China Research Centre operations.
2. To contribute to the generation of new expertise and new concepts.
3. To supervise the members of the process optimization group.
4. To contribute to tech transfer to DNP production sites worldwide.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain specialist knowledge in process optimization and chemical engineering (area of expertise). Integrate, apply and develop it in order to solve problems in projects and assignments.
2. Stay abreast of new developments in the area of expertise and advise on applicability in business group processes.
3. Propose and evaluate new ideas and support the initiation of R&D proposals and projects in order to contribute to innovations and new concepts in the area of expertise.
4. Execute the agreed research programs / experiments, evaluate it and report the results. Plan and organize execution of research activities in the field of responsibility aligned with Competence Manager.
5. Participate in assigned R&D project(s), in which the specific area of expertise has to be applied.
6. Support and contribute registration and patent filing in the field of expertise.
7. Establish and maintain an internal and external network in the area of expertise.
8. Publish scientific publications / presentations; participate at scientific conferences according to the need of the research activities. Keep up-to date with scientific literature.
9. Provide guidance and coaching to operators, technicians, associated scientists.
10. Lead the process optimization group.
11. Comply with Safety Health Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) and other legal requirements.
Requirements
1. PhD in fine chemicals, chemical engineering (or equivalent qualification)
2. MSc with 3+ years of experience in fine chemicals, chemical engineering (or equivalent qualification)
3. Level of knowledge of an advanced researcher
4. Managerial experience would be an advantage
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills
6. The holder must be fluent in Mandarin and English. Knowledge of German would be an advantage
7. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience of modern chemical engineering methodologies, theories and techniques. Experience in fine chemical and pharmaceutical process chemistry and scaleup would be an advantage.
8. Application of modern engineering software to process development is required.
