Our client is active worldwide in life science products, performance materials, polymers and industrial chemicals. The group has annual sales of 6,665 million (Eur) and employs about 22,000 people (year-end 2001) at more than 200 sites worldwide. It ranks among the global leaders in many of its fields. The company's strategy is aimed at generating sales of approx. EUR 10 billion in 2005. At least 80% of these sales should be generated by specialties, i.e. advanced chemical and biotechnological products for the life science industry and performance materials.
Our client currently operates 3 representative offices, 1 wholly owned trading company and 9 joint ventures in China. Our client’s imported products are introduced to customers via representative office. The operations of the ventures include Engineering Plastics, Powder Coating Resins, Unsaturated Polyester Resins and Pharmaceutical bulk actives. Our client has strong interest in China's market. With existing and future investments, it shows long , solid commitments to China.

现我们的客户急需招聘“Strategic Projects Manager”战略项目经理（上海） 1名, 具体要求如下：

Reports to: Director China Strategy & Development

Purpose of the job
1. Support implementation of China and Asset footprint strategy by being on the frontline and in constant communication with the Chinese nutrition industry.
2. Develop and maintain the relation with some key Chinese players/Competitors to ensure best outcome of strategic move in China.
3. Support M&A and partnership projects in China by coordinating internal cross functional team (or external consultants) to ensure agile and efficient process.

Job Context
1. China plays a key role in implementation of China and asset foot print strategy. The success of the business depends on the optimization of asset footprint and maintains leadership positions in fat soluble vitamins and improves our cost position in water soluable vitamins. Additionally, China represents the biggest growth in food, nutrition, feed and personal care in the next decaded and in order to capture such growth, we need to improve our cost position in China. Therefore, this function will play important role in support fast and proper implementation of strategic action defined in China and asset foot print strategy.
2. Chinese players plays important role in the nutrition business, not only as manufacture of active ingredient, but also expand into other fields, e.g. formulation, premix, and oversee Marketing and sales presence.. Chinese competitors are fast moving in improving their quality and technology. This function will also support the implementation of the product BSD and product ASR related to China.

Responsibilities
1. Support implementation of CSD-China & Asset footprint strategy in China. Act as contact with the Chinese industry and monitor closely development which may influence our business.
2. Support evaluating potential Chinese candidates for strategic alliances/M&A for intermediate products/finished products in line with CSD targets, and support decision process involving China and HQ team.
3. Managing strategic projects and coordinate the cross functional team to ensure proper target setting, front loading, project conduction with proper time and cost target, in support to the director China strategy and Development.
4. Identify local business opportunities and threats and feed them back to the Chinese strategy and Development team.
5. Collecting, verifying, analyzing and reporting information about Chinese competitors including their capacity and output, product portfolio, sales, strategic move, technology, supply chain, etc, together with business intelligence group, as input for product BSD and ASR.
6. Coordinate evaluation of M&A candidates, lead due diligence process with cross function team, e.g. finance, business intelligence, technology, legal etc and report the business owner and steering committee of the outcome.
7. Developing business cases for strategic projects in close coordination with controller.

Complexity of the job
1. Maintain good overview of industry trends in China in the field of vitamins & nutrition. Maintain a broad knowledge base on competitor activity and changing market dynamics.
2. Communicate actively strategic move of our competitors to HQ business and product management and facilitate mutual communication between HQ and China team during strategic projects.
3. Translate strategic project goal as task forces and coordinate the cross functional teams during strategic projects. Ensure proper conduction of the project according to the business specification and time scope agreed with the steering committee or business owner.
4. Manage external consultants or work force to support strategic projects. Define goals, negotiate cost, monitor the progress and ensure all legal documents are in place.

Requirements
1. Bachelor degree and above in Engineering, Science, Finance and Marketing etc. MBA will be preferred
2. 8-10 years working experience in the related industry. At least 5 years International company background (from fine chemical industry). More than 2 years project management experience and experience in managing multifunctional team.
3. Good communication & presentation skill
4. Working experience in vitamins or nutrition industry will be preferred.
5. Come from consulting company with technical background can also be considered.
6. Has basic negotiation skill
